Advanced Review: Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews (Hidden Legacy #4)
Mini Review: Fantastic addition to the Hidden Legacy series. I loved every single second of the two times in a row I read it.
Advanced Review: The Witch King by Nancy Holland, (The Witch King trilogy #3)
Mini Review: A rather lackluster ending to already lackluster trilogy. I expect great things from the author in the future.
Advanced Review: Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff (The Nevernight Chronicle #3)
Mini Review: The perfect ending to a fantastic series. More in the series review list.
Advanced Review: To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers
Mini Review: A sci-fi novella from Becky Chambers that is completely different than Wayfarers. More sci-fi than I expected.
Advanced Review: Chilling Effect by Valerie Valdes
Mini Review: A first in a new series with an interesting premise and filled with pop culture references. The main character gets in a bind, and when she tries to fix it consistently fails to do as promised.
Advanced Review: The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
Mini Review: An absolutely perfect portal fantasy full of wonder. I loved it.
Advanced Review: The Resurrectionist of Caligo by Wendy Trimboli, Alicia Zaloga
Mini Review: I wish I liked this more than I did, but I came out with so many problems that I just couldn’t ignore.
Advanced Review: A Hero Born by Jin Yong, translated by Anna Holmwood
Mini Review: A classic wuxia series, now translated into English. I realized while reading this that while this genre is definitely not for me, if you’re a fan of it you’ll probably love this story.
Mini Review: How one series can stay so consistently average, I don’t know. But at least it stays average.
Mini Review: After a strong start to the series, the next couple of books didn’t live up to the promise of the first. Still very good classic sci fi, though.
Mini Review: I love this series so much, but there are some books that are not as good as others.
Mini Review: One of my favourite series ever. I finally reread them so I could review them. Featuring a family of nobodies in a world where being a somebody means everything, an absolutely perfect romance, and a hell of a lot of magic being thrown around.
Mini Review: I reached the end of the reread, and the series is still amazing. Mercy sure knows how to cause trouble by existing!
Mini Review: Hiu from The Fantasy Inn put it best: “Stabby girl stabs lots of people and gets stabbed in turn, in all senses of the word. Smutty violent fantasy with a talking cat-of-shadows that is snarky as fuck.” I really enjoyed it, but it isn’t for everyone.
